Franchisors may consider establishing an ESG (environmental, social and governance) policy to increase diversity and enhance diversity efforts within their franchise system. Franchise Magazine recently published an article written by Lathrop GPM attorneys Carlos White and Rachel O’Connor describing the significance of ESG to franchise companies, including the “social” component of ESG, which is also core to a franchisor’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program. The article provides examples of how a franchisor can demonstrate to its stakeholders that they are focused on diversity by promoting a culture of shared values to strengthen relationships and create inclusive and sustainable growth.
